MUMBAI INDIANS win the Nokia Champions League T20!

It was the Finals of the CLT20 between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. As all had felt it would be an exciting game the Chepauk stadium and Chennai was full with supporters.

Mumbaltai Won the game where it was like who takes more pressure rather than who bats better. Anyway it did turn out to be exciting match. The Royal Challengers had not played any match at this venue in the league. The Mumbai Indians played alright and then suddenly losing wickets in run-outs and bad shots. It was more sudden that, RCB even after good start by Dilshan, Gayle and Kohli threw the wickets. They were not being able to adjust to the slow pitch and the pressure of the finals.

A little temperament and steady batting would have RCB win the title. Mumbai Indians messed the batting but what was good was that when they came to bowl they gave it their best. Fielding was another plus for Mumbai Indians. It was more of a team effort by Mumbai Indians.

HIGHLIGHT: Harbhajan continuing Lasith Malinga in the 6th over to get the breakthrough wicket of Dilshan. Also the good bowling in tandem by Harbhajan and Chahal turned the table on RCB.

Mumbai Indians 139 All Out in 20 overs. Franklin 41 (29 balls, 2x4s,2x6s) and Yadav 24 (17 balls, 2x4s, 1x6s) were both runout. And lastly Malinga 16 runs in 11 balls. RCB bowler Bhatkal took 3 wickets for 21 runs in 3 overs. and Vettori 2-30 in 4 overs.

Chasing a target of 140 in 20 overs Royal Challengers Bangalore were All Out 108 in 19.2 overs. Only Dilshan started well with 27 runs in 20 balls with 5 fours. For Mumbai Indians wicket takers were Harbhajan 3-20, Chahal 2-9, Malinga 2-23.

It was good Champions League T20 this edition.

Coming up now is the India vs England matches which will have high response by India & England fans !

Who will win the CLT20 Finals - Royal Challengers Bangalore vs. Mumbai Indians?

altaltThe Finals will be played between RCB and MI at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai. Mumbai Indians have Won the semi-finals against Somerset and before that had played 4 matches, won 2, lost 1 and 1 had no result due to rain. Royal Challengers beat New South Wales in semi-finals after playing 4 games won 2 lost 2 in the league.

It looks like Mumbai Indians are the favourites but then Royal Challengers have come back to the top with some great performances.

Pitch Factor : The Chepauk pitch is expected to be slow with sometimes variable bounce. Mumbai Indians have played 3 matches here losing 1 and won 2 matches including the last match semi-finals beating Somerset. Royal Challengers have not played any match at Chepauk in this edition. So it will be depend how quickly RCB adapt and perform in this game.

Momentum !alt

RCB - The Batting Momentum is with RCB as they have played well. Their top order Dilshan, Kohli, Gayle and Tiwary have to do the maximum runs. Bowling is the main worry with only Vettori as strike bowler with support from Nannes.

All batsman have been contributing with good strike rates. Bowling has done well with Malinga, Nechim, Franklin and Polard only fielding needs to be better.
